How our Rural Internet Works

Just like wireless cellphones, our internet service is beamed directly to your home or business via a signal from our local area cellular towers and not from satellites in space. This is what makes our Internet service available just about anywhere. There’s no need to worry about whether you have a cable connection or a phone line. Our Internet service is faster than satellite, cost effective and excellent alternative to DSL and slower satellite services.

Here’s how our wireless internet works:

  1. You’re on your computer, laptop or tablet and you click on your favorite website. The signal goes to your new modem (or through your router first if you have one) and then through a short cable to the antenna outside your home (if required). Not all areas require an outdoor antenna.
  2. The signal is transmitted from your house to our cellular towers in your neighborhood and not 22000+ miles away in the sky.
  3. The connection to the internet remains strong during poor weather conditions because you are connected to a tower only miles away.
  4. The modem delivers the wireless signal from our Internet service back into your home or business via ethernet or wireless wifi technologies.

This all happens at lightning speeds, giving you download speeds of up to 40 Mbps in some areas. The signal goes back and forth in a fraction of a second, allowing you to get online, stream music and videos and send large emails quickly and smoothly. It’s as simple as plugging in a modem to the power outlet in the wall.

Wireless Internet Equipment

Wireless Internet Modem

About the size of a small paperback book. You can put the modem on your desk or set it on a shelf. Our newest Modem includes a built-in wifi router and ethernet adapters with easy to install antennas that just screw right on.

WirelessOutdoor Antenna

The outdoor antenna for your Internet is smaller than a satellite TV antenna dish. The antenna is easy to install on your roof or the side of your home. While you do not require an external antenna in most cases, it will greatly improve your signal quality and internet download speeds.

Depending on the area and distance you are located from our cellular towers you may require an outdoor mounted antenna to help stabilize your signal. This is an important piece of equipment for improving your connection to your Internet service if your signal is weak. This antenna will give you improved access to the high speed Internet. The signal from the cellular network is in your neighborhood not in space, which greatly simplifies the installation process.

Our cellular network is always on with you almost anywhere in the United States.

Our Internet service comes from local cellular towers powered by the major cell-phone carriers’ (using 4G and LTE technology) network. No matter if you are in a moving RV or a fixed building location you will always have a strong connection to the internet regardless of weather conditions.

Important Facts about our Internet Plan:

  • This is a limited HIGH SPEED DATA PLAN, there are no overage charges but there are data limits of 200 Gb / month.
  • This is a non-contract plan and requires no term commitments, stay as long as you like and cancel before your next billing date to stop service. There are no termination fees.
  • This plan is great for the average home, home-business or business to conduct normal day to day operations. This plan requires the purchase of a modem capable of receiving a signal from your neighborhood cellular tower.

Network Management Disclaimer (network prioritization)

Customers using the most data, the highest 3% (currently those using more than 9GB of high-speed data/day) may see their data traffic prioritized behind other users once there usage exceeds this threshold for several consecutive days (Note: connecting your satellite provider’s equipment to our Internet service will cause uncontrolled and massive use of your bandwidth thereby getting you deprioritized in short order – we strongly recommend that you leave any TV satellite service unconnected). As a result, they may notice relatively slower speeds but only at specific times and places that may experience high, competing network demand or congestion. It is possible for anyone to be subject to slower speeds after you have used more than an average of 9 GB daily for several consecutive days or if your average usage after 10+ days shows that you will exceed your monthly allotment of 200GB in a month at current usage rates. This should only happen at certain times and depending on your neighborhoods usage demand at any given time.  Will deprioritization affect my ability to stream video?  Generally, while the speed may be reduced, it is still more than fast enough to stream video.
